WHO I AM

Since 2004, Pianist John Stallworth has been performing piano professionally in diverse settings, from the school auditorium to the banquet hall.

At the age of 7, John took interest in building and designing houses out of paper. Forts were definitely not an uncommon site in the home. A career in architecture was definitely a possibility.

John Stallworth was born and raised in San Bernardino, CA. From the early years, John did not show significant signs of musical interest; son of a politician and ameture nutritionist, music was not a big part of the home. John has 3 brothers, 2 younger and 1 older; all who eventually pursued music at varying degrees as well.

John Stallworth was born in the Spring of 1986 in Fontana, CA to Frank and Vela Stallworth. The Stallworth family resided in the city of San Bernardino, California. John was the 2nd child of 4 boys. His musical interest started when he was 13 years old, blooming out of his middle school music theory class. From there his passion grew and he began to teach himself how to play piano, advancing in classical repertoire. Soon John taught himself how to read and write music, and, in the early years, was dedicated to studying and practicing the music of Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart.

As a senior in High School, in the summer of 2003, John took interest in applying for Juilliard School of Music. He also was interested in pursuing a degree in architecture and engineering. From personal reflection and advice from his parents, John decided it was best to pursue a degree in engineering instead of music. This led him to study General Engineering at High Tech Institute in Phoenix, AZ. Graduating with his Associates in late 2005, John moved back home to San Bernardino to pursue an engineering position.

John began working at an electrical engineering company in 2006. He then changed courses slightly to work at a traffic engineering company in 2007. It was during the same year that he met Raynell, Tony, and Joe who would come to form the award winning band Kingdom Business out of Pomona, California. John continued composing and performing for and with the band until the band disbanded in 2013, officially in 2015. In 2009, John accepted a position as music director for Loveland Church in Ontario and resigned in 2012 after relocating with his new wife to Corona, California.

In 2010, John served as Chairman and CEO of a non-profit organization called Concert of Hope Community Outreach. There he was able to work in the two areas he is most passionate about: music and helping the less fortunate. This organization facilitated community food drives and outreach events, as well as home food and care package deliveries. In 2021, the mission of the organization came to an end, being effected by Covid and also new emerging opportunities for John.

In 2011, John married his wife, Kelly. A short while later, John and Kelly had two sons, one in winter of 2013 and the other followed in spring 2015.

From 2007 to 2020, John was able to author and/or appear on 15+ musical albums. In 2013, John began to officially write his own original music, and in 2016 wrote his first full length work, Unleashed. In 2020 he wrote, produced, and conducted his 1st symphony “Storm”. Storm was John’s first piano song that he wrote in 2001, which he converted into a full length symphony in 2020.

John today resides in Idaho with his wife and two sons. He continues to work full time as Traffic Engineering Manager at TJW Engineering, as well as writing/composing music, and performing locally with different musical artists.

SHORT BIO

Through my story I have learned that it was the painful, disappointing, and embarrassing times that were the most impactful to grow the character I needed to not just to be a musician, but to be a musician with purpose; not just to be a man, but to be a man with integrity.
